Posts are set into excavated ground at a ten-degree angle upslope for stability and self-cleaning, extending to a twelve-inch minimum depth in a six-by-six-inch trench. Filter fabric is attached to the posts and extended into the trench. The trench is subsequently backfilled and compacted with the excavated soil.
