A three-eighths-inch thick gusset plate connects a horizontal steel brace or framing beam per plan to a wide-flange steel girder. The connection uses four three-quarter-inch diameter A325 bolts. The plate is welded to the girder web and flanges with one-quarter-inch typical fillet welds. Stiffener plates welded inside the girder web align with the brace connection to transfer lateral loads.
