A built-up steel header and jamb stud assembly in cold-formed steel construction features a 16-gauge steel track tied to jamb studs sized per the structural schedule. A 2" x 2" x 14-gauge steel angle is fastened at the top and bottom of the header using three number 10 sheet metal screws on each leg. Six number 10 sheet metal screws secure the 16-gauge track to the jamb stud, and two number 10 sheet metal screws at 12 inches on center fasten the top track to the header.
