A scheduled partition terminates below a concrete slab on metal deck with an eighteen gauge continuous plate spanning the top track. A one-half inch minimum clearance is maintained at the partition head. Fire safing insulation fills the corrugated metal deck flutes at fire-rated walls or sound insulation is provided. Continuous acoustical sealant or spray-on fireproofing is applied along both sides of the partition head connection.
