An intersecting insulated metal panel wall ties into an existing insulated metal panel wall using twenty-six gauge galvanized steel trim with a baked-on enamel finish to match the panels, mechanically fastened with fastener heads painted to match. A self-adhering foil-backed vapor barrier membrane closure is applied to the warm side of the joint. Foam-in-place insulation fills the internal cavity between the intersecting panels. A one-inch minimum width of the panel skin is cut and removed at the existing wall to provide a thermal break.
