This structural steel connection details a buckling restrained Wildcat BRB brace single module framing into a wide flange column flange and a moment connected wide flange beam. A gusset plate, provided by the steel contractor, connects the brace to the underside of the beam and the column face. A strand plate is incorporated into the gusset assembly with specific dimensional clearances including a 3/4 inch gap and 30 degree minimum angles. The beam web features a 1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch snip at the column connection, with designated no-weld zones on the beam flange. Field welds W2 and W3 are specified for the connection plates.
