The grab bar mounts to the side wall adjacent to the water closet with a minimum fifty-nine inch dimension from the rear wall for floor-mounted water closets and fifty-six inches for wall-mounted water closets. A sixty-inch minimum clearance spans from the side wall to the opposite partition or door maneuvering space. The clear floor space accommodates an out-swinging access door.
