A 4-inch by 4-inch by 1/4-inch hollow structural section steel tube column stands at a maximum height of 7 feet and spaces at 8 feet on center within a 6-inch metal stud wall. The steel tube centers on a 7-inch by 8-inch by 1/2-inch thick base plate set over non-shrink grout for leveling. Four 1/2-inch diameter Simpson Strong-Bolt anchors with a 2.75-inch minimum embedment secure the base plate to the supporting substrate. Fillet welds connect the base plate to the hollow structural section tube.
