A one and one-quarter inch diameter standard painted steel pipe handrail transitions to a vertical painted steel pipe handrail post anchored at the upper landing. The post extends three feet from the top of the stair finish level, with an extension of one foot minimum past the stair edge. The handrail clearance and termination maintain a maximum distance of one and one-quarter inches from the stair edge.
