A quarter-inch by sixteen-inch steel plate is welded to the metal framing and encased in sprayed fire-resistive material. The gap between the sprayed fire-resistive material on the beam and the top of the wall is filled with mineral wool insulation. Spray-applied firestop material is applied to each side, requiring a minimum two-inch overlap at the partition and a half-inch overlap at the sprayed fire-resistive material. The metal deck flutes above the beams are packed with sprayed fire-resistive material.
