The laminated glass head is secured in a continuous 2 1/2-inch by 1 1/2-inch stainless steel glazing channel with shims and continuous approved structural silicone sealant and backer rod on both sides. The channel fastens below a box header aligned as required and wrapped in five-eighths-inch gypsum board. A plaster ceiling finish and soffit vent tie into the assembly adjacent to the glazing head with sealant joints.
