A reinforced roof membrane is lapped and secured over rigid insulation and roof sheathing, which bears on structural roof trusses. Fasteners and fastener plates anchor the membrane through the insulation per the manufacturer instructions, maintaining a minimum one-half inch edge distance. A continuous bead of sealant is applied at the overlapping membrane edge with a one-and-a-half-inch minimum lap width. The approximate five-and-a-half-inch lap zone coordinates with the specified manufacturer installation requirements.
