A wide-flange steel beam connects to a wide-flange column flange to form a rigid moment connection. Continuity plates match the thickness of the thickest beam flange rigidly framing into the column, with a three-quarter-inch minimum at top and bottom on each side. The upper continuity plate is omitted if the dimension is three inches or less. Run-off tabs remain typical. Minimum weld size conforms to AISC specifications. For the number of bolts, web plate thickness, and incoming beams, refer to the schedule and plans.
