Cold-formed steel metal studs fit into a metal runner track positioned against a structural slab. Sound attenuation blankets fill the stud cavity for acoustic performance. Gypsum board is fastened to the exterior face of the stud framing. Continuous acoustic sealant is applied at the base of the gypsum board along the structural slab. An existing wall to remain is located adjacent to the new partition assembly with a variable clearance gap.
