A hollow structural section member matches the support beam and connects to a three-quarter-inch by eight-inch by eight-inch steel plate. The face of the plate aligns with the face of the hoistway support beam, while the elevator manufacturer provides the guide rail. Typical one-quarter-inch fillet welds secure the connection. Dimensions and exact alignments are field verified.
