This interior cornice detail connects the ceiling framing system with a decorative wood cornice and wall finish. The wall assembly replaces the inner layer of gypsum board with a continuous layer of six-inch by five-eighth-inch plywood nailer for structural support. The ceiling assembly features a five-eighth-inch plywood nailer maintaining a one-quarter-inch minimum overlap with the cornice molding. The cornice profile is detailed per the trim schedule on sheet A-622, and the ceiling assembly type is coordinated with the reflected ceiling plan.
