An exterior wall seismic expansion joint spans between a new NRC east exterior wall and an existing ECC west exterior wall, providing a minimum 20-inch clear opening. The assembly incorporates a continuous extruded aluminum vapor barrier frame secured with sealant and a flexible vapor barrier, backed by a 2-hour fire barrier. A bent plate, sized per structural drawings, ties into the existing 2-hour shaft wall and fire-rated parapet. At the roof level, an expansion joint roof cover (C/S MARC-2000) bridges the gap and aligns with existing parapet framing.
