A buckling-restrained brace base plate sits atop three inches of non-shrink grout over a reinforced concrete mat slab. Anchor rods extend through the base plate and mat slab, secured with nuts above and below a C8x11.5 channel located below the mat slab bottom rebar. Additional concrete is provided as needed to maintain three inches of minimum cover at the anchors. A channel is positioned below the mat slab bottom rebar to anchor the assembly. The buckling-restrained brace manufacturer is to extend the plate four inches minimum as required for the gusset.
