A lightning protection and grounding connection assembly utilizes exothermic welded connections. Number 28 Class II copper main conductors connect via a No. TAC-8D8D Cadweld mold for a cable-to-cable connection, and a No. GTC-188D Cadweld mold for connecting the conductor to a ground rod. A 3/4-inch by 10-foot copper-clad ground rod (No. 3410) serves as the vertical earth electrode.
