A scheduled metal stud partition meets the structure above with a continuous metal runner and acoustical sealant. A duct passes through the partition with thermal insulation where required. Any gap larger than one-half inch is covered with gypsum board, lapped two inches, and screwed before applying continuous acoustical sealant.
