An acoustic head of wall detail demonstrates the intersection of partition walls with concrete-filled metal decks, addressing both parallel and perpendicular flute orientations. Mineral wool fills the deck flute cavity to maintain sound attenuation across the joint. A half-inch gap is provided above the partition track, which is secured with a metal strap as detailed on sheet A9.15. Acoustic spray sealant is applied to one side for partition type A1 and two sides for partition types A2 through A4, with specific partition assemblies installed per the architectural schedule.
