An HSS 5x5 hollow structural section brace connects to a concrete wall via a three-quarter-inch by sixteen-inch by sixteen-inch steel embed plate. The embed plate is anchored into the concrete wall with four three-quarter-inch-diameter headed welded studs. The HSS brace intersects the plate at a thirty-degree angle and connects with a complete joint penetration weld at the top and a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld at the bottom.
