Suspended gypsum board ceiling edge conditions with and without seismic bracing requirements per the California Building Code. The seismically braced assembly features a vertical compression post at each set of bracing wires alongside a compression strut and main runner. The unbraced assembly utilizes a one-and-a-half-inch main runner, furring channels, and sheet metal screws connecting to wall-mounted metal studs sized per plan. Gypsum board is fastened to the framing members to complete the ceiling termination at the partition wall.
