A steel brace per designer connects to a steel beam per designer through a yield-link brace connection assembly. Slotted flange plates bolt directly to the yield-link brace, while a gusset plate ties the brace to the underside of the beam web and flange. Beam doubler plates and beam stiffener plates occur at the connection zone as required by design loads. Fillet and groove welds, designated as BW1B, BW2, and WDP, secure the gusset plates, beam stiffener plates, and related structural elements.
