A twenty-gauge metal channel is secured to the underside of a concrete slab on metal deck using two low-velocity powder-actuated one-and-one-eighth-inch Ramset pins, sealed with acoustic sealant along the edge. Diagonal lateral bracing consists of two-and-one-half-inch twenty-gauge metal studs installed at forty-five-degree angles spaced at eight feet on center in both directions, fastened with framing screws. Sound attenuation batt insulation is installed above the ceiling system in areas with mechanical ducts, complying with ASTM C635 and ASTM C636 requirements.
