This two-hour rated wall assembly utilizes six-inch C-H metal studs framed per structural requirements and complies with UL system U415. The core features a one-inch shaft liner type SLX on one side and two layers of five-eighths-inch impact-rated type C gypsum board on the opposing face. The full cavity is filled with sound-attenuated mineral wool R-24 batt insulation. Sound-rated conditions require the partitions to extend from the floor slab below up to the structure above, with acoustic sealant applied at both bottom and top joints.
