An egress stair assembly features a guardrail height of three feet six inches with evenly spaced infill members maintaining a four-inch maximum opening. A continuous handrail is positioned at three feet above the stair nosing and extends a minimum of one foot beyond the top and bottom risers, returning to the wall or walking surface. Stair treads require a minimum eleven-inch run and risers a seven-inch maximum height.
