An existing steel bar joist supports a hanging assembly located per refrigeration drawings for spacing. A three-inch square by three-eighth-inch galvanized steel plate bears against the bottom chord of the joist. A one-half-inch diameter threaded rod passes through the joist web and plate, secured with a double hex nut and locking washer assembly. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld is specified at the plate connection.
