Floor transitions between tile and sheet vinyl finishes bear directly on a concrete slab. The first detail uses a Burke/Mercer number 735 underslung reducer rubber transition strip with a maximum one-half inch height and a two-to-one maximum slope. The second detail uses a three-eighths-inch Burke/Mercer number 146 universal reducer rubber transition strip featuring an ADA-compliant maximum one-to-two gradient at slopes between one-quarter and one-half inch. Sheet vinyl or vinyl composition tile per schedule meets the transition strip alongside tile set in thin-set mortar.
