A two-hour fire-rated column enclosure surrounds a structural steel column. The assembly comprises cold-formed metal studs with required blocking and two layers of 5/8-inch Type X gypsum sheathing. An exterior air barrier membrane system is applied beneath cement panels secured with concealed fasteners. Corner beads finish the exterior corners of the enclosure assembly.
