Metal stud framing supports a dropped soffit faced with five-eighths-inch gypsum board and one-half-inch fire-retardant-treated plywood at the light trough. An eight-inch LED light fixture is integrated into the four-inch light cove pocket, transitioning to an acoustical ceiling tile system. Bottom of soffit and bottom of acoustical ceiling elevations are coordinated per the reflected ceiling plan.
