A beam sized per plan frames into the web of a lateral force-resisting system beam with a full-depth connection plate and a three-eighths-inch full-depth stiffener plate welded to three sides with a quarter-inch fillet weld. The connection plate uses bolts and welds sized per the connection schedule. A vertical offset dimension of six inches maximum is indicated for the beam position relative to the flange. The centerline of the lateral force-resisting system beam is aligned vertically through the assembly.
