A foundation system with a vapor barrier and insulation layer supports the concrete stoop slab. A door threshold sits in sealant atop the slab, which features a maximum slope of one-quarter inch per foot. A concrete curb borders the adjacent artificial turf system, incorporating a two-by-four polymer nailer installed by the turf contractor. Number four rebar dowels, thirty inches long, anchor the stoop slab by being drilled and hammered six inches into the existing concrete, centered within the slab thickness. A waterproof membrane is required for projects with a basement.
