This control joint assembly for gypsum wallboard partitions utilizes a drywall expansion joint molding to accommodate movement. The molding is installed flush with the gypsum board surface, creating a one-quarter inch reveal. A compression seal is integrated within the molding profile. The flanges of the molding are finished with tape and joint compound, and the molding is painted to match the surrounding wall color. The wall assembly itself is constructed as specified in the project plans.
