A wood transom header connects to a metal stud partition finished with five-eighths inch Type X gypsum board. A drywall F-reveal trim profile is installed on both sides of the wood frame with a one-quarter inch shim. The joint between the wood transom and the wall assembly is sealed with backer rod and elastomeric sealant on both sides. Painted finishes are applied to the gypsum board surfaces.
