A light-gauge steel box header and exterior sheathing interface with waterproofing and facade elements. A 600T200-54 cold-formed steel box header features tracks connected by number 10 sheet metal screws along flanges at twelve inches on center. Five-eighths-inch exterior sheathing is covered by a self-adhered waterproof membrane flashing strip extending over the edge of the sheathing onto the duct frame. A general contractor option provides sealant and a backer rod in lieu of the self-adhering membrane flashing strip. Two number 10 sheet metal screws secure each stud flange, interfacing with an exterior metal panel.
