The hollow metal frame throat opening is sized to equal the partition thickness plus one-eighth inch, providing one-sixteenth inch on each side for sealant. Sealant is applied to both sides around the hollow metal frame where it meets the partition. Partition types and specific sealant selections are coordinated per the floor plans.
