This assembly consists of a metal stud framing system with acoustical insulation batts installed within the cavity. One side of the partition is finished with three layers of gypsum board directly attached to the studs. The opposite side is finished with two layers of gypsum board mounted over resilient isolation clips and hat-shaped furring channels. The maximum spacing on the furring channel is 48 inches on center, and the maximum support area per clip is 7.5 square feet.
