This double-stud wall assembly utilizes metal studs with one layer of fire-retardant-treated plywood and one layer of gypsum board on each side. Acoustical insulation fills the stud cavities, maintaining a one-inch minimum clear space between the two stud rows with no rigid cross bracing permitted. Lateral stud bracing is provided as required by structural design.
