This roof expansion joint detail features a structural steel framing system supporting a metal deck with three-inch batt insulation and fire-treated wood blocking as required. The joint gap contains a six-inch ethyl foam backer rod or compressible tube. Membrane flashing, sealant, and batten strips or seam plates are installed over the joint according to the roofing manufacturer specifications. Outriggers include slotted holes for slip connections.
