A continuous 22-gauge minimum 3-inch deep leg deflection track is attached to the underside of the fluted steel deck at 12 inches on center maximum. The gap between the deck, beam, and top of the wall is filled with mineral wool insulation. A continuous 2-inch wide by 22-gauge metal strap is provided, with gypsum board attached to the strap at 8 inches on center maximum. Gypsum board and studs are left unattached to the deflection track in this designated movement area. Spray-applied fire-resistive material coats the steel deck and beam flanges beyond, while spray-applied firestop material is applied to each side with a minimum 1/2-inch overlap at the gypsum board.
