Upper cabinets attach to a partition wall using four number fourteen by three-inch self-tapping pan head sheet metal screws with a backing plate. The backing plate sizing and requirements conform to Woodwork Institute seismic standards. Screws locate two inches both vertically and horizontally from each cabinet corner, and at eight inches on center horizontally along the top of each cabinet. The cabinet construction utilizes one-inch medium-density fiberboard with melamine on the inside and back side, and plastic laminate on all exposed sides. A quarter-inch medium-density fiberboard with melamine on both sides finishes the assembly.
