A one and one-half inch outer diameter stainless steel pipe handrail is mounted thirty-six inches above the stair nosing. The handrail connects to a three-eighths inch diameter painted steel rod handrail bracket with a one-inch radius curve. The bracket is welded to both the pipe and the stanchion, with the welds ground smooth and painted.
