The assembly consists of a rated shaft wall framed with six-inch metal studs spaced at sixteen inches on center, lined with one-inch shaft liner and faced with two layers of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board on each side. Acoustical batt insulation fills the full thickness of the stud cavity. The wall is supported at the structural steel beam via a continuous steel bent plate and clip, with the steel beam protected by spray-applied fireproofing.
