An acoustic wall assembly is framed with six-inch metal studs and sound-attenuating batt insulation finished with one layer of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board on each side. A intersecting bulkhead or partial-height wall is framed with three-and-five-eighths-inch metal studs and finished with one layer of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board. A surface-mounted corner guard protects the exterior corner of the intersecting bulkhead.
