An expansion joint assembly bridges the transition between a framed wall assembly designated as wall type W-2 and an existing masonry wall. A foil-faced membrane is applied beneath the framed wall construction, backed by a 2-inch clearance space. Sheet metal trim is installed at the edge and extends directly into the joint. The elastomeric bellows expansion joint system is anchored between the two wall assemblies.
