A Rain Bird 44NP quick coupling valve is housed inside a ten-inch round plastic valve box with a bolt-down lid, positioned flush with the finish grade. The valve connects to a vertical schedule 80 PVC nipple supported by a one-inch by twenty-four-inch angle iron with two hose clamps. The assembly ties into a PVC mainline via schedule 80 PVC fittings, nipples, and tees. The bottom of the box is filled with four inches of pea gravel, with a minimum twelve-inch clearance to walks, curbs, or headers, and two total bricks for support.
