A shower drain with a schedule-specified drain grate sits within a concrete floor assembly. A waterproofing membrane is applied directly over the concrete substrate and tied into the drain body. A sloped mortar bed rests above the waterproofing layer to direct water toward the drain. Finished tile and grout are set atop the sloped mortar bed.
