An inside corner transition for a gypsum shaftwall assembly features steel C-H studs and J-runners providing the core framing, integrated with one-inch Type X gypsum board liner panels. Sound batt insulation fills the cavity between the framing members. The exterior faces are finished with two layers of 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board on each side.
