A one-and-one-half-inch outside diameter brushed stainless steel pipe handrail is mounted to the wall with brackets spaced evenly at forty-eight inches on center maximum and twelve inches maximum from the ends. The handrail ends return to the wall and extend one tread plus twelve inches beyond the stair nosing at the bottom and one foot at the top. The top of the handrail is positioned three feet above the stair tread nosing. Typical stair dimensions indicate a maximum seven-inch riser and one-foot tread with non-slip nosings at treads and landings.
